On Monday, 36-year-old Darron Kelly, a resident of Moreno Valley, was killed after getting struck by a vehicle on Jefferson Avenue.
The fatal pedestrian accident took place at around 5 a.m. in the 25000 block area, north of Guava Street. The early reports indicated that a white full-size work truck was northbound in the #3 lane while Kelly was walking on Jefferson Avenue in the #3 lane.
Just then, the truck struck Kelly in the roadway. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Officials shut down the northbound Jefferson Avenue between Guava Street and Murrieta Hot Springs Road as crews worked at the scene. No other details were provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
