The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash late Wednesday. The accident happened close to Rancho Cordova at around 11 p.m.
According to the CHP, the pedestrian appeared to be 35 years old and was struck by a gold-colored sedan as she crossed the street outside of a clearly marked crosswalk. The car struck the woman, then continued traveling south on Bradshaw before leaving the scene.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The name and identity of the woman have not been made public yet.
The responsible drive is still on the run. The officials have not released any entails regarding the suspect.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
