The San Antonio Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident near Woodlake Parkway on February 2. The crash occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on the Gibbs Sprawl Road.
According to authorities, a sedan travelling southwest veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with an SUV. The crash sent the sedan onto the barrier of a pair of railroad tracks. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by San Antonio firefighters. She was later identified as Sandra Martinez, 35, by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office. The SUV passengers’ condition remains unknown.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
