On early Wednesday morning, 35-year-old Rob R Knight, from Bremerton, suffered injuries after a vehicle went down an embankment near Kittitas.
As per the initial information, the single-car crash took place on I-90. The preliminary reports revealed that Rob R Knight, a suspected impaired driver, was driving a 2006 Ford Econoline van eastbound on Interstate 90. The van drifted off the road to the left and onto the center median for approximately 50 feet before the van fell down an embankment.
The van was then vaulted onto Stevens Road and rotated, officials reported. The vehicle continued up an embankment east of Stevens Road where Knight was thrown from the van. The vehicle ended up around 15 feet up the embankment. On arrival, emergency crews transported Knight to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
The man was not buckled up at the time of the accident. Authorities are seeing charges of driving under the influence, no ignition interlock device and driving with a suspended license against Knight. No additional information has been provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
