The California Highway Patrol reported a hit-and-run accident on Thursday. The accident occurred on Weedpatch Highway, on the northbound right shoulder of Highway 184, just north of Blackburn Street.
According to the officials, a white Nissan sedan was heading north on the highway when it crashed into a pedestrian that was walking west across the highway. It seems that the driver had not seen the pedestrian and hence could not stop in time.
The pedestrian was thrown into the northbound dirt shoulder and incurred fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal accident is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
