35-year-old Luis Mendoza killed and a 13-year-old passenger injured in a crash on 60 Freeway (Hacienda Heights, CA)

On Saturday, an accident claimed life of 35-year-old Luis Mendoza, a resident of La Puente, and injured a 13-year-old passenger on 60 Freeway.

As per initial investigation, the crash happened at around 12:30 near 7th Avenue. On arrival, an eyewitness told investigating team that a gray car opened fire at a white Chevrolet Avalanche. Officials said that Mendoza, the driver of Chevrolet, got panicked due to the gunfire, lost control of the vehicle, and ended up slamming into another vehicle.

Officials said that Mendoza died at the crash scene, while other passengers of Chevrolet Avalanche, including a 16-year-old and 13-year-old sustained serious injuries. The authorities are still unclear if road rage played a role in the fatal accident. So far, authorities have not made any arrests. No further details have been released regarding the incident.
