The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Midland. The accident occurred on the main lanes of State Highway 158 at around 4:40 a.m. on Friday.
According to the officials, a man was walking east on the highway when he crossed the path of a Ford F-250. The driver of the Fors attempted to swerve out of the way however, its passenger side mirror hit the man.
This caused the pedestrian to incur fatal injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has since been identified as 35-year-old James Evans.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
