A two-vehicle crash claimed life of 35-year-old Derrell McCrary on Barton Chapel Road in Augusta.
According to the officials, Derrell McCrary was driving on Barton Chapel Road and Glenn Hills Drive when he crashed into a stopped pickup truck on Barton Chapel Road. On arrival, emergency crews declared him dead at about 11:00 am.
McCrary was taken to the GBI Lab for an autopsy. As of now, it is unknown if anyone was riding in the pickup truck at the time of the collision. Authorities have not released any other details regarding the accident at this time.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating the fatal crash.
