On Friday, a 34-year-old Lakeview man lost his life following a car crash in Montcalm County.
As per the initial information, Michigan State Police actively responded to the area of Miller Road, south of M-57 in Montcalm County at about 11 p.m. Friday on reports of an accident. The early reports showed that a 34-year-old man was driving a 2005 Cadillac sedan when he ran a stop sign at Miller Road and M-57 following which the car went flying through the intersection.
The man lost control of the vehicle when it landed on the road. Just then, the vehicle slammed into several trees. The man was thrown from the car due to the impact. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the officials. Speed played a part in the crash and it is unknown if the driver was wearing a seatbelt, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash remains under investigation.
