The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office reported a motor vehicle crash on Sunday. The collision happened close to Mile Marker 7 on Highway 95 at around 4:38 a.m.
When the deputies arrived, they found that the collision involved a black 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and a silver 2018 Honda Civic. When the Santa Fe veered into the northbound lane and collided with the Civic, it was moving south.
Joshua Bingham, 34, of Yuma, who was operating the Civic at the time of the collision, suffered fatal injuries and passed away on the scene. Later, YCSO notified the deceased’s next of kin.
The Santa Fe driver and passenger both suffered critical injuries, and paramedics took them to Yuma Regional Medical Center.
The investigation is still ongoing, but it appears that alcohol played a role in the fatal collision.
