The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a hit-and-run accident near 40th Street on eastbound I-10. The accident resulted in the death of a 34-year-old man, identified as Joseph Anthony Woltman.
According to investigators, Woltman was running in and out of lanes in the same area, attempting to enter a vehicle unsuccessfully. He was then struck by a semi-truck, resulting in him being fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed that Woltman was homeless. DPS is investigating the fatal crash surrounding Woltman’s death. They have not confirmed if the victim was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at this time. There are no other details available.
