The Texas Police Department reported a motor vehicle incident that killed 1 person last week. The incident reportedly took place at the intersection of State Highway 317 and Oak Hills Drive at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Monday.

Eyewitnesses who were present at the scene stated that the victim, identified as 34 year old Carlos Aguirre Lopez, had overtaken a larger truck while driving his small pickup and hit a curb, causing the pickup to roll over. Lopez was then ejected from the pickup.

At the time of the incident,  a passenger in Aguirre Lopez’s pickup was also inside and sustained serious injuries. They were taken to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in a critical condition. Aguirre Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal crash remains under investigation.
