The New Mexico State Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Otero County on Sunday evening. The accident happened at Tularosa, in Otero County, about 12 miles north of Alamogordo, along Sabinat Lane at around 10:50 p.m.
Tularosa resident Aubrey Pinson, 33, was operating a 2021 Polaris when it veered off the road and hit a road sign and telephone pole, according to the State Police.
Pinson was injured and taken to a nearby hospital, where she later passed away.
According to the State Police, the crash appears to have been caused in part by alcohol, and seatbelts were not worn correctly. The fatal collision is still being investigated.
