The Louisiana State Police responded to a one-vehicle fatal crash on LA Highway 1054 near North River Road in Tangipahoa Parish. The accident occurred shortly after 11:10 p.m.
The victim was identified as Jeremiah Sims, 33, from Hammond.
A preliminary investigation into the report revealed the motor vehicle crash occurred on LA Highway 1054 when Sims was heading westbound on his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The vehicle veered off the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree.
Sims sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The toxicology sample was obtained from the driver for further investigations.
The crash is under review.
