According to the Riverside Police Department, 33-year-old Hassan Qureshi was identified as the victim of a pedestrian accident in Riverside on Monday.
Approximately at 4:00 p.m., Jesus Rodriguez was driving a Honda Civic under the influence and was headed eastbound on University Avenue. He struck Qureshi and fled the scene. Qureshi was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Later, the investigators found Rodriguez and arrested him for the crimes of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. There are no other details available at this time.
