33-year-old David Smith died, 2 others hospitalized after a two-car crash in north Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

Authorities identified 33-year-old David Smith as the man who lost his life while two others, including a child, suffered injuries following a traffic accident in Phoenix on Tuesday morning.

As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place at 10:15 a.m. near 35th Avenue and Bell Road. The preliminary reports showed that David Smith, the driver of the Sedan, was driving north when, for an unknown reason, he swerved to the left and struck an SUV heading southbound.

Smith succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The two people in the SUV, only identified as a 64-year-old woman and a 5-year-old girl, were transported to the hospital with non-fatal injuries. No other details were provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
