The Santa Ana Police Department reported a hit-and-run accident on Sunday night. The accident occurred on Warner Avenue, at Brookhollow Drive at around 10 p.m.
According to the officials, a man was crossing Warner at Brookhollow. While crossing, he was hit by a vehicle that was headed east. The vehicle fled the scene before the police could arrive.
The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 32-year-old Sergio Diaz. The officials have not disclosed any details regarding the vehicle involved in the crash.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
