A fatal crash in Andrews County claimed the life of a Lufkin man this past Friday morning. Peter Edwin Bouton, 32, was traveling southbound on FM 1788 in a 2017 Toyota Corolla when he veered into the northbound lane, colliding with a Dodge Ram 2500, according to preliminary investigations by the Texas DPS.
Bouton was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram, Jabier Luna, 54, from El Paso, was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital, while his passenger, Rogelio Herrera, 22, from Rio Grande City, was taken to Medical Center Hospital, both with serious injuries.
The multi-vehicle accident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading to this tragic incident.
