According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Escondido on Monday. The crash happened at the West Valley Parkway, near 9th Avenue.
According to the investigators, an unknown vehicle and a 32-year-old were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the unknown person was crossing the road and was struck by an unknown vehicle.
A 32-year-old was identified as the unknown pedestrian who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time.
According to the reports, it is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
