A 32-year-old Arizonan lost his life in a tragic incident on Friday night when his vehicle went airborne off an overpass and rolled while evading law enforcement officers. Identified as Juwan Hedreece Dobbins Jr., the driver of a Mercury Milan was wanted in Arizona and suspected of possessing a large quantity of fentanyl pills, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Despite attempts by law enforcement to stop the vehicle, Dobbins refused to comply. The pursuit ensued, with Dobbins ultimately steering the vehicle into the dirt median to avoid collisions with other vehicles. This maneuver caused the vehicle to go airborne off the overpass, crashing onto Yukon Road and rolling multiple times.
Dobbins was pronounced dead at the multi-vehicle accident, while his passenger, a 31-year-old woman from Hobbs, N.M., sustained serious injuries and was transported to Medical Center Hospital. The fatal crash investigation continues.
