In a tragic pedestrian accident on Wednesday morning, Jermaine William Nord, 32, of Clovis, New Mexico, lost his life. This was because he was struck by an 18-wheeler on Interstate 27 near County Road 5400.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that the fatal crash occurred at 2:57 a.m. Nord, who had been involved in a previous fatal crash in the area, reportedly ran on foot from the centre median to the outside travel lane. He was then hit by the 18-wheeler driven by Brandon Brown, 38, of Tulia.
Despite emergency response efforts, Nord was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
