32-year-old Gregory Hicks dead after his vehicle crashes into a power pole near Spanaway (Spanaway, WA)

On early Friday, 32-year-old Gregory Hicks, of Yelm, lost his life following a traffic collision near Spanaway.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place at around 2:30 a.m. on State Route 507. The preliminary investigation indicated that Gregory Hicks was heading south on State Route 507 when he failed to maintain control of his 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. After that, his vehicle went off the road and hit a pole.

The pickup truck ended up in a ditch and the pole fell onto SR 507 near 8th Avenue South. Hicks suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Officials shut down SR 507 for more than four hours as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
