Tragedy struck Toll 49 near Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler on Saturday, claiming the life of a 32-year-old Tyler woman. Authorities have identified her as Dilissa N. Flores.
The fatal crash occurred around 11:50 a.m. Flores, driving a Mazda Tribute west on Toll 49, collided with a Toyota Rav4 driven by Zarya Borja, 17, of Chandler. According to the Texas DPS report, Borja entered Toll 49 from the eastbound ramp. She then made an illegal U-turn, leading to the collision.
Flores was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Borja sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to CHRISTUS Mother Frances in Tyler for treatment. The multi-vehicle accident remains under investigation.
