On Wednesday, 31-year-old Rigoberto Marmolejo Garcia, of Royal City and his 52-year-old passenger from Moses lost their lives in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 283.
As per the initial information, the fatal incident happened at around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection with Adams Road. Initial reports showed that a truck occupied by 37-year-old Christopher Crisostomo ran a stop sign at the crossing and crashed into Garcia’s vehicle.
The emergency crews responded to the crash scene and confirmed the deaths of 31-year-old Rigoberto Marmolejo Garcia and his 52-year-old passenger from Moses Lake. The authorities detained and charged the truck driver with two counts of vehicular homicide. Officials confirmed that drugs or alcohol played a part in the fatal crash.
The investigation of the crash is ongoing.
