The Amarillo Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Thursday night. The accident occurred in the area of Amarillo Boulevard West and Ong Street at around 10:14 p.m.
According to the officials, an SUV was headed west on Amarillo Boulevard when a pedestrian tried to cross the road by running in front of the vehicle. The SUV was unable to avoid the pedestrian in time.
The pedestrian was critically injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The officials identified the victim as 31-year-old Marcos Stone.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
