The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Ector County on Thursday. The accident occurred on South Loop 338. The time of the accident is not clear.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in a collision. A 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was headed west on the loop while a 2013 Ford F-150 was headed east. The Camaro did not stay in its lane and went into the eastbound lanes. This caused it to crash into the Ford.
The driver of the Camaro was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 31-year-old Jonathan Pete Fuentes-Wilson.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
