The Ohio Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident in Marrow County on Sunday morning. The accident occurred on Interstate 71, near mile marker 152 in Franklin Township, at around 2:40 a.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the crash. A 2020 Hyundai Tucson was headed the wrong way on the highway when it crashed into a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both vehicles overturned and burst into flames.
Four people were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victims as 31-year-old Cristal Galloso Olvera, 50-year-old Ivonne Olvera, 31-year-old Larry A. Dotson, and 32-year-old Marlee Middleton.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
