Houston Police responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash on Sunday at about 9:15 p.m. at 1500 East Freeway.
A vehicle traveling eastbound on the freeway struck the pedestrian walking north on southbound lanes, according to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer J. Louangpho.
The driver fled the scene after causing the fatal accident. The pedestrian was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital for treatment. Later, she was pronounced dead following her injuries.
The vehicle and the driver are yet to be identified by the authorities.
