A tragic collision claimed the life of a Sanger man early Sunday morning in Fresno County.
Officials have identified the victim as 30-year-old Victor Soto Orocio. According to the California Highway Patrol, Orocio was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on Highway 180, west of George Smith Road, around 5:30 a.m.
Simultaneously, a 2017 Toyota Tundra was traveling westbound on the same highway. The Equinox veered into the westbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the Toyota. Orocio sustained fatal injuries in the fatal crash.
The occupants of the Toyota were transported to a local hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Investigators have ruled out alcohol or drugs as contributing factors in the multi-vehicle accident.
