Police responded to a motor vehicle crash that claimed a life. The crash happened in Rochester Hills on Saturday morning around 2:21 a.m.
The crash claimed the life of Sarah Ratliff, 30, from Davison.
Authorities said the hit-and-run happened just minutes after Ratliff was involved in an altercation with two men in a separate vehicle.
The driver of a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was choked by a male passenger in the back seat.
When the driver stopped near the M-59 on-ramp near Adams Road, the truck was headed westbound on M-59.
The driver, a 31-year-old man from Otter Lake, and Ratliff fled the scene.
As Ratliff and the 31-year-old driver fled from the altercation, the woman was struck by a vehicle believed to be an Audi Q7. She later died at an area hospital.
A 41-year-old Metamora man, who attempted to choke the pickup truck driver, was arrested and is expected to be charged with felonious assault on Monday.
