The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle accident in Carrollton on Saturday. The accident occurred on Sam Rayburn Tollway, near the Hebron Parkway exit, shortly before 10 p.m.
According to the officials, a 30-year-old woman was walking on the northbound lanes of the tollway when she was struck by a 2019 Nissan Titan. She was then hit by multiple other vehicles.
The woman incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. She has since been identified as 30-year-old Quinyonna Janell Richard from Dallas.
The cause of the fatal accident is still being investigated. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and was reported to be uninjured. It is not yet known if the victim was impaired at the time of the accident.
