The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident on Sunday. The accident occurred on State Route 99 at Oswalk Road at around 12:05 p.m.
According to the officials, a semi-truck was stopped and attempted to accelerate to make a left turn back onto the highway. This brought it into the path of a 2023 Toyota Tacoma that was heading north. The Toyota had become wedged under the truck’s 53-foot trailer.
The driver of the Toyota, identified only as a 30-year-old man, was killed instantly. His identity has not been disclosed at this time.
The driver of the truck reported the incident and remained at the scene while cooperating with the police. The officials have confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol was suspected as factors in the accident.
The fatal accident is still being investigated. There are no other details available at this time.
