A tragic fatal crash in Pomona claimed the life of a 30-year-old mother from West Covina, leaving her two children injured. The multi-vehicle accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the 10 Freeway, just east of Fairplex Drive.
The 6-year-old boy suffered major injuries and was taken to Children’s Hospital Orange County. The 7-year-old girl sustained minor injuries and was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital. The driver, a 30-year-old woman, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead.
The collision transpired when the woman’s Kia Forte collided with a semi-truck and trailer in the adjacent lane. This caused the Kia to flip over before landing on its roof.
The incident remains under investigation. There is no suspicion of alcohol or drug involvement. The identity of the deceased victim has not been disclosed.
