In a tragic incident early Monday morning in Pine River Township, Gratiot County, a 30-year-old man from Wheeler lost his life in a traffic collision. Duncan Clark was riding his motorcycle westbound on M-46. He came to a stop at the traffic signal at the intersection of Alger Road.
Meanwhile, a pickup truck traveling east on M-46 was in the turn lane with a green arrow to turn north onto Alger. Despite the red light, Duncan proceeded through the intersection and collided head-on with the pickup.
He was rushed to MyMichigan Health in Alma but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. The intersection remained closed for approximately two hours as authorities conducted their investigation. Deputies were assisted at the scene by several emergency response teams.
