A tragic collision near Friona claimed the life of a 30-year-old woman, identified as Cinthya Guerrero on Monday morning. The Texas Department of Public Safety revealed that the fatal incident involved two vehicles. A 2015 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Guerrero and a 1999 Peterbilt truck tractor towing a semi-trailer operated by a 26-year-old Clovis man crashed into each other.
The fatal crash occurred around 6:50 a.m. when the truck tractor, northbound on County Road 17, failed to yield the right of way at the US 60 intersection. The truck crossed eastbound lanes, entered the westbound inside lane, and collided with Guerrero’s vehicle.
Despite the emergency response, Guerrero was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Texas Highway Patrol Troopers are actively investigating the multi-vehicle accident.
