The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Midland County on Sunday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Tom Craddick Highway and County Road 60.
According to the officials, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was headed southwest on the highway towards the intersection with County Road 60. At the same time, a 2016 Kia Optima was headed northwest when it ran a stop sign and crashed into the Silverado.
The driver of the Optima was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 30-year-old Ario Pela Fine.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
