On Tuesday, 30-year-old Adrian Torres, of Walla Walla, died while 49-year-old Matthew Richerzhagen, from Waitsburg, suffered injuries following a traffic accident on State Route 12.
The fatal two-vehicle crash happened at about 9:12 p.m. two miles east of Walla Walla City. The preliminary investigation showed that Torres was westbound on the freeway approaching Smith Road when his vehicle went over the line and crashed into Richerzhagen’s vehicle.
On arrival, emergency crews transported Richerzhagen to St. Mary’s Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Torres succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Torres was not reportedly buckled up at the time of the collision. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
