According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Monday in Eastland County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on US Highway 183. A vehicle drifted off the roadway through the shoulder and struck a drainage culvert. Subsequently, the vehicle overturned.
A 3-year-old occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. A 5-year-old occupant and the driver of the vehicle sustained incapacitating injuries. Another 67-year-old occupant did not sustain any injuries.
Other information pertaining to the accident including the identity of the deceased person is pending determination. The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
