3-year-old Amira Owens and 41-year-old Cesar Ramirez-Hernandez died after a crash in north Austin (Austin, TX)

Authorities identified 3-year-old Amira Owens and 41-year-old Cesar Ramirez-Hernandez as the two victims who were killed following a traffic collision Tuesday in north Austin.

As per the initial information, the fatal car accident happened in the 13100 block of North MoPac service road near Scofield Ridge Parkway. Authorities actively responded to the crash scene at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The preliminary reports showed that the driver of the car was going southbound when his went off the roadway and struck Ramirez-Hernandez, who was a maintenance worker. Ramirez-Hernandez was declared dead at the scene. The car kept on traveling and hit a cement drainage ditch, causing it to roll over.

The backseat area on the driver’s side was badly damaged due to the crash. That is where 3-year-old Owens was sitting. She was also declared dead at the scene. The driver of the car was transported to the hospital with non-fatal injuries. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
