According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday in Norwalk. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the multi-vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on the northbound Santa Ana Freeway, south of Florence Avenue. A 2017 Honda hit a sound wall and became disabled. Subsequently, a 2011 Kia and a 2016 Toyota struck a tow truck. The tow truck came to a stop behind the disabled Honda.
Initially, 32-year-old Arilene Rivero was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Subsequently, the other victims were identified as 41-year-old Luis Marroquin and 40-year-old Joel Araujo. Both Araujo and Marroquin were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Other information pertaining to the collision is currently unavailable. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
