In a tragic multi-vehicle accident overnight from Sunday into Monday, a wrong-way collision claimed three lives on Interstate 90 in Mercer Island. It was reported by the Washington State Patrol.
The two-car fatal crash occurred around midnight on the eastbound lanes of I-90 near Island Crest Way. A 30-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old individual were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victims has not been disclosed at this time. The officials have not reported if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
The eastbound lanes of I-90 were temporarily closed for about five hours during the investigation, with all lanes reopening by 5:30 a.m. Monday.
