The Kinney County Sheriff’s Office reported a rollover accident on Sunday. The accident occurred on Highway 90.
According to the officials, the Texas Department of Public Safety officials had tried to pull over the driver of a black pickup truck as they suspected them of human smuggling. The truck managed to evade the police for a while but the chase ended when the car hit a ditch and started rolling.
8 people were thrown from the vehicle while it rolled. Two of the people incurred fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. One other person was severely injured and died in a helicopter on the way to a hospital. Their identities are not yet known at this time.
The fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. There are no other details available at this time.
