According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Tuesday morning in Lompoc. Officials confirmed that three people died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Constellation Road, on Highway 1. The driver of a 2008 Kia was heading southbound when it suddenly crossed into the northbound lanes due to unknown reasons. As a result of this, the Kia collided with a 2017 Chevy.
The three occupants inside the Kia were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver and an occupant of the Chevy were hospitalized with minor injuries. Other information regarding the accident including the identity of the victims is yet to be determined.
The involvement of drugs or alcohol is not suspected. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
