The Texas Department Of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in the early morning. The accident happened on US 77 at around 5 a.m. The collision involved two vehicles.
A Chevy truck was pushed into a median by a GMC driver who rear-ended it, causing it to flip over and catch fire. The two truck occupants who were thrown from the vehicle died at the scene. Tragically, the truck’s driver perished in the flames.
Jose Rivas, a 39-year-old Houston resident, was the driver, and Christina Gonzalez, a 37-year-old Humble resident, was riding along with her 8-month-old son.
It is unclear what caused the crash. Whether drugs or alcohol were involved is yet to be found.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. Additional details are not available currently.
