3 people lost their lives after a traffic accident Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in El Paso’s Lower Valley.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place on North Loop Drive and Lee Trevino Drive at about 1:45 p.m. Police traffic investigators were called to the crash scene at around 2:30 p.m. The early reports showed that an SUV and a semi-truck were involved in the collision.
Authorities confirmed that three people in the SUV died following the wreck. The driver of the truck did not receive serious injuries. Fire crews utilized the ‘jaws of life’ to extricate two of the deceased from the SUV while the third victim was found outside the vehicle.
Due to the crash, North Loop and Lee Trevino were shut down in all directions. As of 5:30 p.m., Texas Dept. of Transportation officials stated they anticipated that closure would remain in effect for four more hours. No other details were provided.
