3 People Injured In A Multi-Vehicle Crash In Clovis (Clovis, N. M)

The state police reported Wednesday that an officer’s vehicle overturned after hitting another car at Clovis Community College, believing an active shooter drill was underway.

The officer sustained minor injuries in the crash. The 45-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl, driving in a Nissan Rogue, were transported to Plains Regional Medical Centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

The multi-vehicle crash occurred when the Nissan travelling north on Norris street struck the passenger side of the state police vehicle travelling east on Seventh Street.

According to the news release, NMSP learned that the active-shooter threat reported by the Clovis Police Department was just a training exercise.

Officials from both agencies said they were unaware of the training exercise.

An investigation into the crash is underway by the New Mexico State Police.
