3 people in critical condition after a multi-vehicle accident in Rutherford County (Rutherford County, TN)

Four people were hospitalized following a traffic collision in Rutherford County.

As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle pile-up took place on Interstate 24 East at Waldron Road. The early reports showed that a box truck was broken down in the left lane when it was struck by a Ford F250. After that, a third vehicle crashed into the Ford. Five other vehicles were damaged due to the debris from the crash.

According to the authorities, four patients were taken to hospitals; three of them were in critical condition. The identities of the victims have not been revealed at this time. I-24 was later reopened to traffic. Heavy delays remain on I-24 East. No other details are made available.

An investigation is ongoing.
