The Puyallup Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday morning. Officers arrived on the scene and found a burning car that was lying on its side near the intersection of 19th Ave. SE and 3rd St. SE.
The car was traveling north on 3rd Street SE when it crashed through several trees, launched off the dead end, and came to rest in a backyard.
According to the authorities, three people were unconscious and trapped inside. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames and extricate the victims from the rubble after they arrived, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The PPD reported that a 24-year-old woman, a 24-year-old man, and a 27-year-old man were the three victims.
They have established that speed played a role in this collision. There was evidence of cannabis and alcohol use inside the fatal crash.
