The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a fatal crash took place on Monday and added that the incident began as a pursuit. Troopers attempted to stop a speeding gray Mazda with a fake license plate on Sunland Park Drive around 1 a.m, however, the Mazda driver resisted and a pursuit ensued.
Upon exiting I-10 at the Chelsea exit, the driver lost control of their vehicle, colliding with a cement barrier.
The motor vehicle accident led to several occupants being ejected from the vehicle. Six individuals were subsequently transported to the hospital.
One person lost their life at the scene. On Wednesday, authorities confirmed two more fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths from the crash to three.
As of now, the identities of the victims have not been released.
