According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Monday in Hope. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred near the 25-mile marker. The deceased person was identified as 29-year-old Rhana Shah.
Shah was driving her 2023 Toyota Camry westbound when she suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The car traveled across both lanes, entered a ditch and then struck a tree.
Shah was transported to Hope Hospital sustaining injuries but was later pronounced dead. Insights pertaining to the collision are yet to be released.
The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
